Why you should solo travel NOW !

Ding, dong! Solo travel is ringing, and you should definitely pick up the phone ! In this blog post, I’m going to give you very good reasons to travel on your own.

Freedom

I believe it is the main reason why you have to – I am not forcing you though – travel alone . Get rid of that lazy friend who never wants to do anything before 5pm, say goodbye to unnecessary conflicst, and change your plans last-minute just because you feel like it. You get to do what you want, where you want, whenever you want. I can’t think of anything better than that (ok maybe going anywhere without any time or money constraints).

Self-discovery

You might surprise yourself and boost your confidence by doing things that you are not used to do, or by facing unknown situations. For example, I went to the restaurant alone twice in five days while I was in Porto, whereas I had previously only eaten some fries by myself back home. I have learned so many things and I am sure that you will, too.

Because you never did it

and was in your resolutions in 1750 (or not). Now is the time to take the plunge ! Go for it.

Or because you did

and you loved it! So why wouldn’t you try again ? Or maybe you did not enjoy your last solo trip, and it is time to create more pleasant memories.

To spend time on your own

Just you and yourself. You may be living with your partner, your family or some flatmates. You work or you study, you are always surrounded with people and you barely have time to hear your own thoughts. Solo travel is ideal to reconnect with the person you will always be with : yourself.

To meet new people

Scared to be lonely? No worries ! You can always meet new people. Actually, you will meet new people because you may be traveling alone, but you are not flying to a desert island (or maybe you are?) .
